The project aims to develop the student’s ability to conduct advanced research in the field of plasmonic nanocomposite coatings by modifying them with ultrashort laser pulses. The aim of the project is to determine the laser ablation threshold of nanocomposite coatings filled with metal nanoparticles using different harmonics of ultrashort laser pulses. Student will determine the correlation between the filler amount and laser ablation threshold. During the implementation of the project student will become familiar with the deposition of nanocomposite films, will perform experiments using ultrashort laser pulses (the laser ablation threshold will be determined) and will evaluate the structure changes of the nanocomposite films due to applied laser radiation. Results of the project will be presented in the conference.
Project funding:
Project is funded by EU Structural Funds according to the 2014–2020 Operational Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments priority “Development of scientific competence of researchers, other researchers, students through practical scientific activities” under Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712.
Project results:
During the implementation of the project student will become familiar with the deposition of nanocomposite films and analysis methods used to characterize such films. Student will perform experiments using ultrashort laser pulses and will determine the laser ablation threshold for nanocomposite films using different approaches (1-on-1 and S-on-1) for different harmonics (343 nm, 515 nm, 1030 nm). Results will be presented at the conference.
Period of project implementation: 2020-11-03 - 2021-04-30
