Studying applied mathematics is one of the most interesting puzzles I’ve ever had to solve. Every day you can discover a new clue, but the longer you go on, the more you realise that the possibilities in the world of numbers are endless.
This versatility of mathematics extends beyond a career as an educator – machine learning, data analysis and security, and FinTech are just a few of the areas where the world’s biggest problems can be solved by applying mathematical models and developing new algorithms. These fields are growing rapidly and constantly need specialists who can turn complex data into meaningful insights. The word “applied” is a clue that this programme goes beyond theoretical knowledge to teach how to apply it in practice – from data management to model building and its application in business, technology and science.
However, my life at the University goes beyond mathematical formulas – I am an active member of the Faculty’s student association FUMSA. This activity helps to ensure that students have not only a good academic but also a good social experience at the University through organised initiatives and community activities.
Don’t forget – mathematics is much more than just numbers – it’s a powerful tool for solving real-world problems!
