If this were my first year at university, I would probably say that I chose to study at FMNS because I liked maths and computer science the most at school. As I was finishing my third year at this faculty, I realised that it was not my favourite subject that brought me here, but rather my desire to try my hand at something where there are unexplained guesses, such as what is it that lies behind those obscure codes or the letters of the Greek alphabet – could it be an everyday human habit or a common natural phenomenon?
The fascinating thing about the study of data science and engineering is that it brings together mathematical theory and computer intelligence to reveal what can be explained scientifically and reasonably in everyday life. The fact is that data science describes mathematical, sociological, natural, medical, machine learning or even artificial intelligence parameters, and allows specific insights to be provided for each of these subjects, but it also plays an equally important role in business. The latter is what fascinates me the most: good specialists who can dot the i’s and cross the t’s of big data are always in demand, while the global market still lacks excellent experts with competences beyond computing.
I believe that I will become one of them after completing this study.
